Leaving for Playa Madama Oktober 2008.

Horses are a big part of life at the Hacienda. Karin has beautiful, well cared for horses and knows all the best trails. Karin may be able to provide a horse on a long term hire basis to experienced horse people.

Becoming apart of the day to day life you find out why many choose to make Las Galeras home. Join Ronald when he feeds the horses at dawn and dusk as the soft Caribbean light filters through the palm trees on the seaside where the horses folic. You will soon understand why this little village at the end of the road is captivating.

All the rooms have a generous amount of space.

The Hacienda operates on eco friendly principles.

The rooms have windows on at least two sides to take advantage of the prevailing winds. Fans are also available. Only energy efficient lightbulbs are used, rain water is collected and kitchen waste is composted.

The rooms are semi furnished with a bed provided. You need your own bed linens, towels, mosguito net and anything that makes you feel "at home".

Dominican standard bed linens can be provided, if necessary, for an extra charge of € 40 per bed.

The communal kitchen is supplied with the basics. Food, and cleaning supplies are your responsibility.

Ron and Karin are very tolerant but they reserve the right to refuse and evict guests who are disruptive to the harmony of the Hacienda.

If you have any concerns that your planned activities may not fit in with the ethos of the Hacienda, please enquire in advance to avoid any misunderstanding.
